The NanoMemPro project was a joint initiative of 13 European partners, all leaders in the field of membrane technologies, coming from 13 member states.
It aimed at:
·  setting up a "European Membrane Technology Platform": shared research facilities
· promoting a common language: developing common procedures and protocols
· training researchers: basic training and continuous education. (European PhD and Master's Degree on Membrane Engineering are in preparation).
·  fostering Europ
ean professional mobility
· creating a legal entity (European "Membrane House" - AISBLto host all the activities developed
· developing strong links with European industry.

After 4½ years, the NanoMemPro project came to an end in March 2009.  NanoMemPro's website will stay open but will not be updated in the future. The NanoMemPro programme’s ambitious objectives were in large part reached, thanks to the efforts of all the various academic and industrial researchers taking part in the project.

Going on working together
A legal entity –the European Membrane House- has been created to give the project’s members a framework to go on working together, along with other structures.
